Why I do what I do?

I love to inspire you to grow, expand, and feel good in your body.
Inspired by my own journey, Yoganic Moves is here to guide you inward—through mindful movement and self-awareness, so you can expand outward with strength, clarity, and purpose. This is your path to balance, resilience, and your fullest potential, on and off the mat.

Hey, nice to meet you here!

About Me

To me, yoga is more than a practice—it’s a way of living. It helps me tune in to my body and needs, manage life’s stressors, prevent injuries, calm my mind, and feel grounded in a fast-paced world. Having experienced both extreme stiffness before starting yoga, and later becoming overly flexible from doing only yoga, I’ve come to advocate for balance: strength and flexibility, effort and ease.

With over 11 years of experience teaching yoga full-time and leading retreats around the world, my path has been guided by a deep passion for movement, personal growth, and holistic well-being.
As the author of a Dutch book on yoga for athletes, my expertise goes beyond traditional yoga. I’ve completed over 1200 hours of training, inclucing 500 hours advanced training with Yoga Medicine in functional anatomy, yoga therapy, and mental health—reflecting my commitment to blending science, mindfulness and holistic wellness. Over the years, I’ve built a rich toolbox that includes breathwork, meditation, tapping, strong yet fluid vinyasa, yin yoga, myofascial release, pilates and Thai yoga massage.
In my roles as a yoga teacher, lifelong student, entrepreneur, and sports enthusiast, I continually strive to grow and raise the bar—both professionally and personally. At the age of 50, I began strength training and took up wave surfing, challenging myself in new ways and learning something completely outside my comfort zone. Most recently, I became certified as a Reformer Pilates Instructor, expanding my toolbox.
Whether you’re recovering from an injury, building strength, or simply looking for ways to release stress and reconnect with yourself—I’m here to support you.

Story

On my own search for meaning, I’ve moved through many chapters—changing careers, feeling lost, confronting fears, and navigating life’s toughest challenges. Over time, these experiences have become my greatest teachers. They shaped who I am today and how I teach.
One of my biggest lessons? Becoming my own best friend. Embracing all parts of myself—even the messy, imperfect ones. I’ve learned not to take myself not too seriously, to cultivate compassion, to stay curious, and to see myself as a continuous work in progress—always evolving, growing, and softening.
I believe we all hold unique qualities and potential that emerge when we slow down, connect within, and find the courage to look inside — to show up, face our fears, and follow the calling of our spirit.

Knowledge

I began my yoga journey with a 200-hour Ashtanga Yoga teacher training in Thailand in 2013, followed by specialized Yin Yoga training with Sarah Powers’ Insight Yoga. In 2016, I completed an advanced 300-hour teacher training with Radiantly Alive in Bali.
Since then, I have deepened my expertise through over 500 hours of advanced training with Yoga Medicine, under Tiffany Cruikshank’s guidance, focusing on functional anatomy, yoga therapy, mental health, and myofascial release. Alongside this, I’ve completed training in Thai massage and breathwork, and recently became a certified Reformer Pilates instructor.
My approach integrates this broad spectrum of knowledge, combining movement science, mindfulness, and hands-on techniques to support holistic well-being. I believe learning is a lifelong journey, and I continue to study and grow to serve my students better every day.
As a specialist in Yoga for Athletes, I authored a book in 2022 outlining the reasons and methods for using yoga to build resilience and enhance athletic performance.
